Day 4: Davenport to St. Louis on our Mississippi River Tour

280 miles is a long drive. But our Mississippi River Tour can't be just about getting from Point A to Point B. So, we try to stop along the way to experience the history and culture of the places we visit.

Mind you, we didn't plan any of this! We stopped at places that our readers had recommended the day before, and it turned out fabulously! The National Pearl Button Museum was a completely fascinating slice of the history and politics of Iowa. And we were glad to see Hannibal, the very small town where Mark Twain was born.

But I must say we were most glad to arrive at our hotel! Resting up for our reader meeting tomorrow!
