In times like these, it's important to find things to be happy about. A dozen roses, a sparkly napkin ring, shiny hearts in the window...these all make me smile, and grateful for the life that I have built.
True, the news each day is upsetting, and I have been fretting about how all of this might impact my family, especially in the areas of education and health. But my husband and I are fighting, and will continue to fight and do all we can to make this a brighter, safer place for our children and grandchildren. And there is joy and healing in the fight as well.
I often tell Robert he is my favorite person in the world. On Valentine's Day this is especially true. He is what I am most happy about..today and everyday.
